SIUE’s Candace Hall’s Award-Winning Documentary Short Shines Light on Successful Hiring Initiative

When it comes to working while Black in U.S. colleges and universities with the average numbers coming in at a meager 6 percent, one may want to invest in a rabbit’s foot or a four-leaf clover. However, in her award-winning documentary short “clusterluck,” Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Candace N. Hall, EdD, reports there is a better way to raise numbers. 

SIUE’s Hall Wins IndieFEST Film Award for Documentary

Candace N. Hall, EdD, assistant professor of educational leadership at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, has won a prestigious Award of Recognition from the IndieFEST Film Awards. The award was given to Hall, film executive producer, and Cami Thomas, film director and CEO of My Friends and I (MFAI), for the documentary short “clusterluck”.

The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Interdisciplinary Research and Informatics Scholarship (IRIS) Center has announced Ezra Temko, PhD, assistant professor in the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Sociology, and Candace Hall, EdD, assistant professor in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior’s Department of Educational Leadership, as its inaugural Faculty Fellows.
